VIsta 64 bit home edition premium. I just switched to this from xp after laughing at all the config problems everyone has had Vista and its scaredy cat virus protection = hardware driver fiasco=lousy integration.
I only purchased my HP when I ran into my basic needs quad core anything w 4 gig ram and Windows 7 free upgrade for under 300! Well to my surprise as I was shopping for the cheap ram under 29 bucks a 1gig stick i fell into a floor model with modest reviews but almost the price of a decent graphics card and Hard drive for my older comp plus a wireless card to boot ! Well except for the constant admin approval and unfriendly control panel I have finally adapted to the lags and bottlenecks . BUt when my old graphics card was not recog.. by the vista 64 bit brain I find it hard to believe anyone would ever have paid for this POS when xp was king . People seeking xp systems over Vista Funny! I was lucky to have also missed out on the milenium virus and if not for my luck with my two computers lasting 6 and 4 years of upgrades I finally needed a new system . As I wait for 7 would I expect to be pleased with the new system and is it possible if Vista 64 is a pain for some drivers would 7 be a considerable improvement? Most importently as I get ready for an internet only household with PSP/P3 and 7 can I finally cut off cablevision/VOP phone charges and just zip by on Hulu/IPTOrrents and Netflicks? Or am I just wishing for a miracle?
