I have a desktop and a laptop in the same area. The laptop gets much better connection strength - "excellent - 54Mbps" while the desktop only get "Low - 11Mbps" can someone tell me how to fix the connection strength on the desktop? really appreciate it!
I'd say what might be happening is interference between the 2 cards cause they are in rather close proximity. unlikely as it may seem that might be it. try moving the laptop away and see what happens if that doesn't solve it the wireless card in the desktop may just have a crappy receiver chip or antenna and the one in the laptop might have something a little better able to pick up a signal
