hi, as the subject says whats the difference BTW P35 and X38....and i am thinking to buy a ga-g33m-ds2r as i have seen its overclocking (400 FSB+ 8O ). and will any new processor other than penryn would run on a x38 not on P35. if some of the models don't work on p35 so i will take x38 and when would be x38 be releasing? thanks for the replies :)

The P35 is the single PCI-E x16 version which can have a second PCI-E running in 4X mode. The X38 is a full 2xPCI-E X16 chipset which may have PCI-E 2.0.

i posted a similar topic asking about is the P35 worth it, i got replies saying yes, and that some boards are compatible with DDRIII and DDRII, so that mite be a plus for the P35. X38 is launching about august or september. Some boards are made but are still getting tested etc. I dont know any of the added features but i know about the PCI, will the X38 run SLI???

and can the X38 run both DDRII and DDRIII or only DDRIII (if so i dont think the X38 is worth it unless ur a rich bitch.

according to some of the X38 boards shown at computex with will run both DDR2 and DDR3, also i read somewhere that it will overclock very well, much higher than p35, so now i guess you just need a cpu that can run at them kinda of fsbs....

as for SLI , well that's down to whether or not nVidia supply driver support.
Foxconn say that they are going to have a driver that will work on their X38 mobos though.

i think the price of the x38 will be higher than 150$ because p35 is 99$and above, and x38 will be worth the price because if it have SLi and ddrII and ddrIII support....i just want to see the penryn's overclocking on an X38 mobo...
