I had a malware issue I used a clear and after that when i rebooted it went to my user login screen when i click on a user it says logging on the goes directly to the saving setting mode and goes back to the user log in screen any ideas on how to get passed that ??
No i went into safe mode and the same thing happened I would click on a user it will say loading personal settings then a screen flash and it goes to saving personal settings
It's probably that C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe is corrupted or missing. Try booting into the Recovery console from a Windows XP CD and restoring it from the I386 folder on the CD.

1. insert OS disc
2. get in BIOS and make optical drive the 1st boot device
3. restart
4. press any key when prompted
5. use the r command to go to the repair console
6. there's no admin pass, so just hit enter when prompted
7. Ok you are in C:\Windows. Now lets suppose that your CD drive letter is d:
So here is what you type.
d:
cd i386
expand userinit.ex_ userinit.exe
If it shows a message like 1 file expanded or copied then type Exit and restart.
