okay, this is a quick one, hopefully simple.

i have a WD250GB SATA running through a Gigabyte p35-DS3R. When i look in the devices in the bios, it says its an IDE device? why!? :P

Both SATA and PATA are IDE unless it is in a RAID configuration. SATA (Serial ATA) and PATA (Parallel ATA) is just the interface that connects the drives to the motherboard.
