what 64 bit is compared to 32 bit and it seems there is more software for 32 bit, and my 64 bit cruhed when i put a web cam that was for 32 bit, I found out after it crashed and gave me the blue screen of death it was Dell computer, they replaced it. Look for 64-bit drivers for the webcam... all major manufacturers will have them available (Logitech, Creative, etc). If you bought a bargain basement webcam, then you might be out of luck when it comes to 64-bit drivers. If you have a 64-bit OS, then you MUST install 64-bit drivers. Never, EVER download 32-bit drivers.

You can go to the manufacturer's website, find your device, choose your OS (32bit or 64 bit vista...), and it should bring up the correct drivers for you (if there are any).
