Problem With Windows Photo Gallery

Today I started having a problem with windows photo gallery.
In the past I've been able to e-mail pictures from my cell phone to my e-mail address and then save the pictures from there.
Today, I tried to crop the pictures that I e-mailed from my cell phone and I got an error message that said, "Windows Photo Gallery cannot save this file".
I've never had this problem before. Is there anyone else who has experienced this problem and if so, do you have the solution? I'd really appreciate any kind of help I can get. I take alot of pictures and I really like the way Windows Photo Gallery works or worked rather.
