I have been given a non working Dell Inspiron. the HDD has XP MCE installed. Ive removed the HDD and put it in an enclosure and the HDD is readable. I would like to salvage the XP MCE to use on another computer. Is it possible? I dont believe just backing up the drive will do it but possibly a Ghost? what is the best software to use in this case?

I'm afraid that this is borderline circumventing the EULA, although it is easy to do

I dont see how it is circumventing the EULA. It is leagally mine, and will be only used on one machine. I have the key. I dont intend to deprive the good folks at Microsoft of their 30 pieces of silver. all I want is to recover what is bought and paid for.

you need to read the EULA, you do not own the OS, it belongs to the computer it is registered to, nice of MSFT isn't it, besides it was given to you, so register it with Dell and contact them for a disk, as for the real question google it
