I have recently upgraded and old pc and the old pc did not display any output so i am unsure of the previous state of the HD.

On the hd was windows xp but this just restarts when attempting to load windows.

I have tried to re-install windows from boot and in setup it freezes on the analyzing hd stage. Do anybody know what this problem is. I think it could be a problem with the sata hd but i do not want to buy another if this is not the problem.

download the Ultimate Boot CD and run some of the HDD diagnostics
