Duplicate photos

I copied & pasted 24 photos from Picasa to my pictures in XP.
I then copied them to a floppy.
Pictures OK but now I have 14 copies of the photos alongside to original 24 in my pictures.
When I delete about 7 photos they reproduce as next copy (15).
This is a problem common with most window Op Systems but I have never found an answer.
Does anybody out there know how to get rid of the copies and what causes it.

not normally, but try to select them and drag and drop into the Recycle Bin, maybe it will keep them for duplicating, or create a folder(trsh) and drag and drop them into the forder and then delete the folder

I did evenually get rid of them but would still like to know what causes it.
Maybe its one of lifes mysteries.
