New build not connecting to internet.

Just put a pc together for the first time and after many blockades it works, BUT when i plug the ethernet cable into the back it turns orange and i can not get a connection. any one have an idea?

If you haven't done so, recycle the modem, sounds like you're connecting directly to the moden rather than going through a router. I'd delete the old LAN driver and install the most recent. Also check you BIOS LAN settings.

Are you sure you installed the NIC driver?
Go into device drivers section and see if there are any errors.
Try and run a loopback test to the NIC
