When you say installing, do you mean plugging in the keyboard or using a disc to install drivers?

You shouldn't need a software disc unless you got something like a gaming keyboard. The windows generic drivers should work fine.

Try going into the device manager. Right click and uninstall your keyboard. Then restart. It will reinstall when the PC reboots.
