Problem with XP and IE7-8 Synchronization

Hello:

I run xp sp2 with ie6 on a dual core with 5 lcds with which I track the weather via website motion weather maps. I have the start/programs/asseccories/synchronize
sent to desktop and then dragged to the quick launch for refreshing my maps.

Every once in a while I just click on the synchronize icon.

I have just installed ie7 and then ie8 and both of them have a different
routine when I click on the synchronize icon.

It now brings up "items to synchronize"
which doesn't list any of my web addresses for maps.

I have searched the web but have not found anything on this. I can still
right click on desktop and properties/desktop/web to get to the refresh but it is a pain.

I can not seem to drag and drop or type in any links to "items to synchronize".

A new feature I could do without.

How do I get around this or use "items to
synchronize" for url website motion pics?
