3dmark, although being a benchmarking tool, is good for stress testing because it puts a huge amount of stress upon the card to measure every last bit of performance.

Try 'Oblivion'

... there is always that one, lol but that costs money, 3dmark can be downloaded free for a demo, and that is all you need for stability testing.

i m fine with oblivion with everything max, enable aa8xaa16 in control panel with max res. i get high 30's out door with stock video card setting.
my stock video card setting was 575/800?? is this normal?? i dont think the stock spec is like that.

edited. imo rainbow six vegas is more demanding, i have to play at 1400x1200 settings in order to be playable with everything else max of coz.

ntune software has a gfx stress test. you can select how long you want it to run. My friends computer has 64 bit vista and the 8800gts so its pretty much the same as yours.

575/800 seems right, 800x2 is 1600, so that is right and stock on the core is something like 500, but it is probably a factory OC card

You could try the Unigine Sanctuary demo. It gets my card up to it's highest temp.

Don't know if it works in 64bit, but it's worth a shot.

install the client and then download and install the sdk source base. Has a good stress program. open console ~ and then enter net_graph 0 for fps
