One cannot install an OS on a USB hard drive, can one?

I just tried to install x64 XP on my USB WD 250gB while having 32bit XP on my internal HD, and my computer would keep restarting. Somehow I got to the boot menu and got to start the computer and edited the boot.ini and got rid of the problem. Whew!

Thanks

You can run an external operating system from an external HDD... XP anyways.

Look into a program called Mojopac (Freeware).

If the host pc is XP you can run the second XP from a HDD and it in no way affects the host.

Yeah. Seems to be kind of okay. Now this is the technology we ought to have. I don't know why people take so much of time to even think of such small things. I think this is likely to work.

(To myself: Yohooo! Whistle!! Way too cool man!!! :bounce: :sol: :D :p )

Hey!

I had thought that I would be able to have another operating system installed on the hard drive. But that is not the case.

In this software, you can only take settings of XP 32 bit in the USB drive, along with another software that you are allowed to install on the same USB drive under this software.

Nevermind though, this is also useful.

Strange, my USB appears in the device manager as a second hard disk, under "Disk drives". And yet I can't install another operating system on it.

Thanks
