After many, many mods to my case, it is now at a loss for some crucial parts...
My main problem is that when my cpu fan is running full blast, I get an annoying rattling sound--- I think between the MOBO and Case. This is probably because I am missing about 5 screws to hold on the MOBO. Although it could be that the case is damaged I feel that I should atleast try and find some screws to secure it before something (like the cpu heatsink) rattles off and causes some damage.
So if someone happens to know of a link to buy extra case screws...
I live in a town 81008 for shipping purposes. I have staples, office depot, office max, and Circuit City, but no Best Buy or Comp USA.
I'm using a P4, 3.4 ghz stock heat sink
intel d915pbl mobo (don't recall what the case model is -- bought off newegg 4 years ago)
Any suggestion on how to fix or mod this or links would be appreciated, thanks-- Ben
I would hurry and get that fixed as soon as possible. A rattling mobo is a disaster waiting to happen. You could crack the mobo or short it out and ruin some of your components.
Home Depot, Menards, Walmart, Sam's Club, Newegg, Frozencpu, CrazyPC, Xoxide, MnPcTech and etc. Lost of screws and you can replace just about every screws and nuts in the case.
But for sure Frozencpu, CrazyPC, and Xoxide sell parts for case modding so you more likely to get what you need there.
Thanks for the help guys, couple follow up (stupid) questions.
Are the little washers important?? If not i'll got to the hardware store.
If they are, does anyone know what to ask for... as in the 4mm, 6mm... fine or course?
Sorry if these are stupid questions but i'd like to prolong this case on MOBO for another 6 months to a years.
On a another subject: Thanks to mpilchfamily for your help on a choice of powersupply from a previous post. I ended up buying an Antec True Power 650 watt (with 3 12v rails) $90 bucks after rebate.
and thanks for everyone else's imput on this problem --- this site is invaluable and I try and help if I ever know how too
