Wow that is toooo much info   , however if you must have an Ati card I think it's the 1950xt pro that you need to be looking at but as I don't use Ati cards I'm not that clued up on them and I don't hail from Canada so I don't know where you would find one at the best price, sorry.

WOW is not a graphically intensive game but I can see where onboard Radeon Xpress 200 would be a little unsatisfying.

While the X1650XT is an excellent suggestion, I would opt for a 7600GT. It's not nearly as power hungry as the ATI variant which means it should be a lot more compatible with your HP's power supply. The 7600GT has more than enough horsepower to run WOW. If you wanted to save even more money you could go with a 7600GS too as it also has plenty of juice.

And before you ask, you can use an nVidia card with your Asus ATI Radeon Xpress motherboard.

Your first mistake is asking about an ATi card on a Nvidia fanboy forum. Secondly when people ask you for specs, we want hardware specs. Go with the x1950PRO 1600 series cards suck. And a x1950 will wipe the floor with a 7600.

Ok is there a program that will display my hardware specs?

STFU. I have had an ATi card since I joined here, have asked Q's regarding the card, and have never been flamed about it. Now I REALLY understand what vern and all of those guys were talking about (like I needed to know anymore).

Your first mistake is asking about an ATi card on a Nvidia fanboy forum.

Huh? Now that was a bit unnecessary. There's plenty of both; you being one example... And save your flame...I'm currently using an X800XL.

To the OP: I agree with Anoobis.

Wow that was a lot of info all at once. Anyways if all you play is WoW then yeah, 7600GT sounds about right. At least it gives u the option of playing other stuff too if you ever get bored of WoW.

You might want to look back over all the posts from the not so recent past that recomended people wait for the 'R600' killer GPU and how it was going to hand the 8800's their arse on a plate with a side salad of kick in the teeth.

This is a Sapphire X1950Pro card. All at 179$ + tx. Depending on the province you're in, you should stay below 200$.

The only problem is that I don't think your computer has a PCIe slot. If that's the case, you'll have to go with an AGP card.

http://www.microbytes.com/computer/ordinateur/product_info.php?cPath=2100001&products_id=26367

This one is an Asus X1650Pro AGP. All at 135$ Can. Far from the one above, but the best for your price point. Should be good enough for WOW at high setting.

I'm myself on ATI right now and for the last 5-6 years. Still, you might want to consider NVidia also. They also have a very competitive line both for AGP and PCIe.

EDIT: Actually, your board IS limited to AGP. Too bad! That means you'll have to pay more for same performances board.

Ya I still don't know how I can check what kind of slot it is.

Look at my edit above! You should be on AGP... unfortunatly for you!

DDraw Status: Enabled
D3D Status: Enabled
AGP Status: Enabled
DDraw Test Result: Not run
D3D7 Test Result: Not run
D3D8 Test Result: Not run
D3D9 Test Result: Not run

There it is, unless I missed something!

erocker, if we were talking about a custom system with a strong PSU, I would have gone with the X1650XT or the X1950Pro as they're excellent cards but we aren't talking about that are we? What are the power requirements for the X1950Pro Einstein? X1950XT???? Here, I'll help you out and make it easy. Just head on over to Extreme Outervision and give their PSU calculator a test drive. Come back to us with the results.

Yes we all know the 7600GT gets killed by the X1950Pro. Thanks for pointing out the obvious. Care to enlighten us with more of your genius?

Instead I decided to err on the side of caution and recommend to the OP a more power efficient card (2 in fact) that is more likely to be compatible with his current PSU while still being more than capable of handling the OP's request.

@NightlySputnik, I wasn't sure of the PCI-E either but I'm not familiar with any ATI Radeon Xpress 200 Chipsets with an AGP slot so I guessed PCI-E. Hopefully HP didn't screw the OP over by not supplying any GPU slot on the board itself like OEMs are so known to do. How did you come to see that they're on AGP only?

hellzscream, I think I've run across a few of your posts in other forums while searching for info on your issue. You should have CPU-Z installed. The "Mainboard" tab should have a section noted as "Graphic Interface" and it should tell you if it's AGP or PCI-E.

Ya the graphic interface there are no words there and it is just grayed out>.>

Isn't obvious to you that my post wasn't directed at you?

No, it was a totally biased, unnecessary, unprovoked, fanboy attack on the whole forum.
Yeah, kinda! :D I'm no fanboy of ATi, I just hate Nvidia.

Hmm that is strange. Can you give us the model number of the HP? It should be listed somewhere on the case or on the back of it on a sticker with it's serial number.

Wow that was a lot of info all at once.

It might seem like a lot of info, but virtually every PC game retail support asks for a DxDiag report. If you know what you're looking at, you can get the salient points in just a few seconds.

More is less when it comes to questions such as this.

Here is the HP Product Specs for you machine. It confirms the information you just posted as well.

It does have one free PCI-E slot available according to those specs.

Thanks for checking for me but how can I confirm this is there a program that can check. I'm not sure about it but night said something about agp enabled i'm getting confused. Also will my system be able to handle the cards some of you suggested? In terms of the power supply I guess

Obviously the serial number is unique to your machine. I'd call that good enough confirmation. I'm not certain, but my guess on what NightlySputnik noted is actually a generic key in DirectX to begin with. Meaning it's enabled by default regardless of whether or not an AGP slot is present or not.

The ATI Radeon Xpress 200 chipset is a PCI-E based chipset. I'm not familiar with any that are AGP based boards. If you need more proof, try here. Again it indicates that you have one PCI-E slot and no AGP.

As far as power requirements, you're going to have to open the case up and write down that amps available on the 12V rail(s). Most of the times there is a chart on the PSU (power supply unit) that will indicate 12V, 5V, etc... We are only interested in 12V. It may be listed as 12V1 and 12V2 meaning you have multiple 12V rails. We need to know what amperage they list under those 12V rails.

Also let us know the maker of the PSU as well as the total continuous wattage of the unit if it is available. The maximum wattage available will help too if the continuous isn't listed.

I recommended the 7600GT because you can find them online at places like Newegg.com for under $100, they're more power efficient than the X1650XT, and they have plenty of GPU processing power to play WOW in detail. Here's an eVga 7600GT for $95.00 before rebate and $80 after a mail-in rebate. My guess is that your PSU will be sufficient to power a 7600GT.
