I have an unusual requirement that I need to fill. I am helping to build an art installation that will have a 27" monitor (weighs about 20 lbs) on a floor-standing system that will be about 5 ft high. The VESA-compliant monitor needs to be able to move between landscape and portrait mode by an electric motor. Sounds simple enough, but I am having a problem identifying a VESA compliant monitor mount that can pivot between the two modes without unlocking a pin or lever and that has room to add the gearing and mount a small motor. The motion of the monitor need not be particularly fast, but it needs to be smooth, precise and quiet, so a good mount is needed. The motion will be intermittent, not continual, so it won't need to be highly robust.
