Hey everyone I am new her but have found alot of useful information..The question I have Is that i play an online game called everquest.Been play it for about 5 years without any issues till this last expantion came out, and now i am haveing all kinds of connection and dropped connections everytime i zone..Ill try to keep it short and to the point and tell you what i have done so far..

I am running time warner cable extreem package, with there combination /modem - router ..They have re wired the whole house fronm the street to the modem, replaced the router 4 times..Keep in mind i have 2 kids that play online games as well, wow ..They were dropping as well, but now its only me dropping connection and haveing to reboot moden when i zone..

Time warner has said i may need to get a gaming router and possibly a gaming modem, so we can all play , they said i mayt be taking up too much broadband..

Then i go and reformay my hard drive back to scratch , remove and reinstall the game go through the patches ect ect. Still same issue crash while zoneing

I have been told to dis able firewalls, un do start up services, ect and try running game still same thing

Now im being told to un do the SPI-NAT firewall to help with all the information comming back while zoning but i cant disabe it and time warner cant either

so my question is do you think a gaming router will help and if so which one? , also do i need a gaming modem, if so which one ?

should i switch back to dsl instread of cable, other than buyong a new desktop and playiong a new game im at a loss cause SONY is telling me they dont support laptops

Thanks alot for all the imput and help this has been going on for a month now
