I have a desktop machine which was running fine but when I boot windows now it loads to the desktop and then i get a message on the bottom right of the taskbar saying windows found new hardware: Motherbaord Resources and a window appears on the screen with the following message:
"the software you are installing for this hardware
Motherbaord Resources
has not passed windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with windows XP.
It has two options STOP INSTALLATION and continue,
However i cannot use the keyboard or mouse when the PC boots because they both stop working when i boot the PC.
I tried to go to the BIOS and enabeld USB Support and then i tried accessing SAFE MODE but when i do that then the keyabord and mouse stop working when the system loads the Windows User selection page so i cannot login to windows as i cant select a user.
Please can someone help me out so i can access my data to backup then i wouldnt mind instlaling WIN XP again.
Borrow a PS2 keyboard and mouse or adapter. Then make sure USB is enabled in the BIOS. Then boot into windows and check the device manager for conflicts.
