The motherboard went south. Like everone else I have photos and info in the harddrive I want to access. I removed the hd from my brothers working computer and installed mine. It booted fine, I got some of the stuff onto cd's and then a message came up. Something about having three days to recertify or validate the system. I reassambled my borthers computer as it was and all was fine. I built a new system from the ground up and now when I boot the old drive I get the following message and it just keeps going a rebooting cycle. Technical Info Stop: 0X0000007E (0XC0000005, 0XF748E0BF, 0XF78DA208, 0XF78D9F08) Pci.sys - address F748EoBF base at F7487000, Datestamp 367d855c. What up with this? Is this a program Microsft built into th XP Home Editon so you can only install it once? I ahave a new HD with XP Pro x64 and the system works fine. Whats up with the drive?

Did the drive have XP SP2 on it? You may need to slipstream an install disc with SP2 and reinstall.
