Recover a document in windows 2007

I was in the middle of a word doc -windows 2007 in Vista and my electriciy went out- my document was lost- how can i recover on my computer? info from microsoft website does not help

did the auto recovery tool open? if not try opening your temp files as it may be there! Ps it will only open the revcovery tool if you saved the doc at some point
