I called Comcast to activate the new DVR service and was told it required a
tech visit to install. I currently have a Moto 6208 HD box and thought that
this was DVR capable but was told that it needed to be replaced. They
wanted to schedule an appointment this Sunday during the Superbowl. I asked
if I could just pick up the box and was told that only techs have the new
boxes. Lastly, when I asked to receive the new 6412/two tuner box they said
it could be requested but there were no guarantees. Anybody else have this
experience?

I got mine today. . They wouldn't let me pick it up either. I pressed
them, and they waived the install fee. Of course, I took off work for a
half day to get it.

I'm in Berkeley, and when I got my first 6412 a month or so ago, they
had a tech come out and install it ... not that he was much help, it
was the first one he'd done. Last week I went to the office and
swapped my old standard box for a second 6412 ... they gave me the
box, no tech needed.

How does it compare to the regular Moto HD box? Is the menu/remote any
better/different? Does it have any built in stretching for the
DVI/component outs? Or do you need to watch SD content through S-video to
use the TV's stretching capabilities?

How many hours at full quality? Details! Details!
