First oc attempt so dont be too harsh :?

p5b deluxe
e6600 @ 2.4ghz
corsair 2GB 2x1GB ddr2 1066 pc28500
arctic 7 cooler

Ok so i followed wusy's directions (which were a great help)

The auto set up on the memory was originally 5-5-5-18 400mhz
the memory is rated for 5-5-5-15 @533mhz 2.2v

I put the voltage of the cpu at 1.4v and 333mhz x 9 as per wusy.So i knocked down the timings of the memory to 5-5-5-15 and 333mhz to match the cpu fsb of 333mhz.

CPU now at 3.0ghz with temps of 48 running orthos, no problems.

Don't I want to get the memory up to 533mhz? And would I still care about the 1:1 cpu:dram ration?

Do i put both the cpu frequency and the dram up to 533 and drop the cpu multiplier? A cpu fsb of 533 and a multiplier of 6 would give me 3.2ghz correct?

Is it possible to go 533 and a multiple of 7 to get 3.7ghz without destroying things?

Thanks in advance,
Floyd

The closest your going to get to 1066 is 2:3 DDR2 1000 at 333 FSB
you have to be at 266FSB 1:2 or 400 FSB 2:3 to achieve your goal
and if you can post 533FSB on the P5B My hats off to you 8)

yeah 533 fsb would be insanely hard to get to on any board

i would go with 333 fsb and 2:3

Ok so maybe a dumber question.

So if i have to drop it to 266mhz and end up with a processor of 2.4ghz in this case why would you bother with 1066 memory?

Or is this just a silly question and i should be trying to go lower timings instead? Say 4-4-4-12?

you would only drop the fsb to 266 if you wanted a 1:2 ram ratio other wise 333 and 2:3 would be fine
