They make a P5K Deluxe which supports DDR2 though, the one you mentioned was specifically for DDR3.

Thats interesting.

But there really isnt a need for DDR3.

You know DDR3 is only going to be getting faster and faster, so it gives the buyer the option in the future to run the higher performance memory that DDR3 could deliver in the near future while still using than current DDR2 until that happens.
