I have 2 pcs that were upgraded to XP Pro from Windows ME a few years ago.( both were built for me by a third party Pc company)
I have been forced to turn off automatic updates because of the genuine windows message.
I recently purchase 2 new XP Pro oem packets with code of authenticity labels.
I need to know how to install them over the non legal ones installed by someone else earlier without messing everything up.
I would appreciate any help.

You have two options.

Option 1:

Just do a repair install.

You can do this by inserting the CD and booting from it as you would normally.
When prompted to, choose the repair install option.

Option 2:

You could also do a CD key change as well and just use your new valid keys.
