It will be use for gaming, OCing and hell lot of other basic stuff. Should I be the early adopters of DDR3 and pay a premium (aka "futureproof") for it or stay with DDR2?

Processor: Q6600 (Should be waiting for price drop)
Motherboard: Can't seem to decide on this should I go for P35 Chipset or 975x or 680i? Cause with Q6600 I don't need to hit high FSB to get a good clock. Wouldn't consider P965 as P35 is the replacement for it.
RAM: 2 X 1GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2 PC6400/800
Graphics: Either reuse my 7900GT or get either 8800GTS 320/640mb or get x2900XT (DDR3 512MB / DDR4 1GB) depends on price
HDD: Will keep my current with option to purchase a 500GB HDD
PSU: Cosair 620watts or Seasonic (name me a model) or SilverStone ST60F 600W Power Supply Unit Modular
Optical Drive: WIll keep my LG DVDRW with option to get another 1
Chasis: Will be reusing Lian-Li PC7+
Monitor: Using a 19inch LCD now, wouldn't be getting a bigger 1 at the moment cause no space to put. so gfx need to decide accordingly

Comments are welcome!

There is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to buy DDR3 right now. It's waaaaay to expensive, the kits that are available have timings sky high, and there really isnt any performance to be gained. Even ram manufacturers are saying DDR3 won't be mainstream until 2009.

If you can afford it, the Asus P5K Deluxe is a great choice for the mobo. The Gigabyte DS3R is another good choice, if the P5K is too expensive.

Unless you can get a good deal on the 2900xt, just get an 8800gts. The 2900xt is way more expensive then the 8800gts, it runs alot hotter, consumes alot more power, and is only slightly more powerful. Also, for a 19" screen, 1gb of vmem is insane overkill. You would only need that much if you gaming at like 2560 x 1600.

Corsair power supplies are made by Seasonic, so they're more or less the same psu. A Seasonic that's comparable to the 620HX is the 600w M12. The only difference between the two is the warranty and the esthetics. Another option you might want to look into is the 750w Silverstone Zeus or Etasis ET750 (they're virtually identical). They're about $40 more then the 620HX and the M12, much more powerful, and Zeus is one of the best power supply lines money can buy ATM. That goes for Etasis' psu's as well, since the Zeus is based on an Etasis design.

I would go with the EVGA 680i board. It is handling the Quads pretty good. Not only thta they have good warranties.

Motherboard: EVGA T1
CPU: E6600 L646G494 @ 3.7Ghz. 1:1 Ratio Linked & Synced Voltage 1.44
SPP:1.45volts, MCP: 1.50volts
Memory: Mushkin PC2 8000 4-5-4-11, 2T Voltage 2.1
Swiftech Water Cooling H20-220
Video: One EVGA 8800GTS 320MB
Power Supply: Silverstone 750W
OS: XP Pro

Sry for offtopic.
What about a Asus P5K (without dlx) is it a good clocker, or is it just shit?

I have heard the non-dlx isn't as good at OC'ing. I have the p5k dlx and really like it. super tweakable, and my e6600 has been flirting with 3.6 pretty easily - working on tweaks to get stable.

stay away from DDR3 for now - unless you have money to burn. It doesn't offer any real performance increase at reasonable speeds - and is $$$!
by the time it's mainstream (2009?) it'll be faster (latency) and cheap (relative).

good luck!

but i thought for intel system, speed is more impt than latency. as for the mobo wat chipset are u talking abt

The lowest latency I've seen for DDR3 is 7-7-7-21 @ 1066mhz. With a latency that high, the increased speed doesnt matter much. Plus, you can get 1066mhz DDR2 for half the price of comparable DDR3, and the timings are much lower, 5-5-5-15.

The DS3R and P5K Deluxe are both P35-based boards.
