I bought XP Pro 2 years ago but I lost the disk. I taped the key inside my case because I lose almost everything; it really is a legit key. So I have an old copy of XP, I believe it was my brother's, and I wanted to reinstall with that disk using my key. When I try, though, I get an error message telling me that the version on the cd is older than what I'm running now.
I'm thinking that this is because I have sp2, and I don't believe the disk does. My comp. is really messed up right now, and I can't download sp2 (can't download anything), to slipstream into a copy. If I reinstall with this cd, I should be able to just download sp2 afterwards, right?
