- CoolerMaster Elite RC-330 case sans PSU ($39.15 CDN)
+ OCZ GameXStream 600W ($106.79 CDN)
= $145.91 CDN
So I'm just a little overwhelmed with options here I guess. Yes, I've read Mpilch's sticky but I'm still unsure. The Earthwatts is listed on there as having enough (34A or whatever) but then the review linked there says this:
"Yes, it's a 500W... but use the Enhance or Silverstone 80 Plus 500W units for comparison... They have 432W on the combined 12V rails. This Antec only has 408W on the 12V rails!"
I don't see the other PSU's on that list though, but I read on other sites the OCZ 600W is decent. But I'm also unsure about total Wattages need to run and lightly OC the system? A calculator I used put it in the 450W range I beleive, but who knows how trust worthy those are..? (or if I did it right haha). I know overall Watts aren't as important as that 12v Rail guy on a quality PSU, but still some places say 500W is enough, some do not ><
I guess I should mention aesthetics aren't really important at all for case choices. Oh, and maybe also consider air flow? The CoolerMaster is said to have excellent airflow, but I like the size of the Antec cases + fan options for that also...
Anyway, thanks for reading and please be gentle in your responses
Stay away from Smartpower, that's one of Antec's worst power supplies. Truepower 2.0 isnt much better. The Earthwatts is you best best, it has plenty of power for your build, even with and oc. The OCZ power supply you mentioned has alot of voltage ripple, so I wouldnt consider it.
Awesome, thanks for the help guys I have a feeling I'm going to be coming to these boards every few years when it's time to upgrade/rebuild, you're all so helpful/nice :.)
