It appears that my drivers are out of date:
a)Plug and play Monitor
b) Intel Pro/100 VE network adaptor
c) intel 8280 IBA/BAM AC '97 audio controler - system device
d)8284 processor to I/O controlle IA30 &
e) 8284 processor to AGP controlle IA31.

My funds are limitted to none at the moment....Are there any free-ware that I can download that anyone knows about that are safe?

Download SIW (freeware) and it will identify the motherboard for you.

SIW Standalone freeware version is excellent and can be run from a flashdrive.

Tried to download the file. I got an error stating "C:\documents & settings\ \local settings\ temporary internet files\content.IE5\EVP7X5UV\siw[1].exe is not a valid WIN 32 application" What do I do now?

Pop the side of your case off, get a flashlight, and look for the manufacturer's name and s/n on the mobo. You can go to the manufacturer's site and search the board by the s/n.

Delete the downloaded file and download again, it's likely the download was corrupted.

Usually on a HP the is a decal on the side with a customer number on it.
Go to the HP site and enter that number and it will tell you what you have and offer up the drivers.
