I have windows XP Home - since updating to service pack 3 and IE 8 I receive the following error message every few seconds while I'm connected to the internet - The instruction at 0x0009264 referenced memory at 0x20657661. The memory could not be written. I have checked/cleaned registry but no luck.I'm not brilliant with IT and this is driving me crackers!! Any ideas? Thank you.

IE8 is pretty flaky. I would recommend doing a system restore back to before you updated IE. Stick with IE7 or try Firefox.

There are some viruses that try to mask themselves as svchost. You may want to boot into safe mode w/ networking. Download malwarebytes and Asquared, update them, and do a thorough scan of your system.
