only speculations.

If those statistics come close to being true, we could be seeing the 8800GTX getting roughly 60-65FPS on 1280x1024. In DX10 for that fact. Not bad.

But like others have said, this is only speculation.
June 14, 2007 2:08:34 AM

So if I get this straight it is speculated performance for a card that was speculated months ago but has actually never come to market and may never.

ATI X2x00xtx

Actually for the speculation to ever reflect an actual card it would now have to be "HD2x00xtx".

is there a next-gen difference between the xtx and the xt? They are with the same set, only difference might be the clocks and memory
June 14, 2007 2:51:13 AM

That's based simply on them looking at screenshots and guessing.
June 14, 2007 2:52:10 AM

damn 2900xt is kicking 8800gtx's ass
June 14, 2007 3:27:28 AM

Whose speculation is this? The developers? Or some kid that is good with photoshop?

Hmm, 7900GT matching a X1900XT and SLI 7900GT beating Crossfire X1900XT..... I doubt it.
June 14, 2007 3:45:44 AM

Considering that Crysis partnered with Nvidia and the that the xtx from AMD was slower than the xt model, oh one last thing there is no ATI any more, I would say this is BS.

ati is the brand of the card, amd is the maker

As soon as I saw the X850 below the X1600, I stopped looking at it.

Pure speculation, pure B.S.

For some reason that list gave me an image of two knobs sitting at a dinner table with DD dice rolling to make up the list. :?

I'll take mine with a pinch of salt please
I have a x1650 card in one of my rigs with similar system specs and would be confident that 40 fps is way out at 1024x760.

If those are real then the 8800GTX is shortlived. I don't consider those figures acceptable performance.

Not to sure how much i trust them though.
June 14, 2007 8:47:49 AM

EVEN IF this list was right, the game hasn't been optimized yet and I am sure that when the game finally comes out an X850 wont get 10 FPS in low.
June 14, 2007 9:14:34 AM

OMG that's funny. "based on a dual core processor @ 2 Ghz and 2GB of memory"    What, did they take a D805 and underclock it or did they use an ancient 939 system with ddr1? This is so lame. Where is the whole test setup? You got a link to where you found these?

The E4400 is 2.0GHz ...
June 14, 2007 10:17:17 AM

So is my 3800+. That's not the point. You don't just put 2ghz dual core by a bench and expect everyone to be happy with it. If it's real I want to at least see on which mobo and know what processor they were running to compare to my own. It's like the stupid a$$ ads from pc shops lately. 3Ghz intel processor. WTF? They put 3Ghz celrons in there and the people are under the influence that it's a killer pc.

says XTX not XT   (even that is speculation at its limits)

Calm down if you check the post again you will see that it is only speculated performance (as in not real) :)
So it would be kind of pointless being specific about system specs for what basically comes down to a best guess.

June 14, 2007 10:41:31 AM

So did they pull that out of someone's a$$ or did they write a random number program to get they're projected numbers? (doubt it, sounds too complicated for them). AMD and ITEL don't perform the same clock for clock so 2Ghz dual core still leaves a lot up to the immagination. Just my point of view...
June 14, 2007 11:00:13 AM

Yeah, a lot of good speculation did for the R600. Everyone thought it was so great with it's 320 stream processors and look how it ended up. With no hard evidence to back it up there ain't no way I can believe it's acurate...

Yeah, I'm just in a very fowl mood today so forgive me if I was rude in any way. We have a strike going at the moment from ALL the state employed people in the country. The goverment offered them 6% anual raise and they want 12%. A lot of those people use this time they have off now to come and report their problems by us so we are very busy, they are very arrogant and on top of that, I'm the only damn one in the office today.

Oh and in case this wasn't mentioned before, from GamesRadar
Quote:

We asked Cevat Yerli, Crytek CEO, what gamers with a limited budget should buy to make sure they can play Crysis well, and his first answer was two gigs of RAM. The single gig most of us have is going to struggle with environments of this size, and with this much smashable stuff to keep track of. Next on the shopping list is, predictably, a GeForce 8800 - but the GTS model in that range is fairly affordable, and not a huge step down from the GTX. The surprising part is that Cevat says a Core 2 Duo E6600 processor is enough to run Crysis on Ultra High settings with that setup.

Here's a scary thought: They don't support high resolutions!

Good lord... this one takes the cake. I can't believe that ANYONE would take this seriously. "expected" performance? What the hell is that? lol...
June 14, 2007 4:39:44 PM

Thats some funny stuff. Sad thing is I can imagine some dumb kid sitting down and using numbers that sound about right.
June 14, 2007 4:52:36 PM

Absoutely useless post...

"expected performance"

Not even a benchmark...

You are the weakest link... goodbye
June 14, 2007 5:09:34 PM

Interesting choice of words. This entire thread is full of 'useless posts'. We get it, the chart is useless, we don't need 6 pages of random "that chart is so stupid!", "omg how retarded!" posts to realize that.
June 14, 2007 5:11:55 PM

:)  I might be able to play with Crysis with a single 8800GTS 320Mb and with modest quality settings.

no.. that 2x00xtx is kicking the 8800GTX's ass ;P

EDIT: this chart is *ALMOST* as useful as synthetic benchmarks....
June 15, 2007 2:25:50 PM

oh yeah the 2900xtx we won't be seeing like.. ever

Pure speculation, pure B.S.

lol, very well spotted, the x850 is a far superior card to the x1600

Anyway the crysis devs said already that 2 gig is a must, and with a 6600 and 8800GTX you can expect to play the game at ultra high settings nad thats nigh on a quote from them

However they are disabling some gfx stuff and will enable it in 18 months when the hardware catches up to use it
June 15, 2007 3:37:46 PM

FIrst off this post is BS.

Second da** you guys remind me of when I was 8 and used to poke a stick into an ant bed just to see them run around in circles ready to attack, only to get burned by a magnifying glass...., but that was more entertaining.
June 15, 2007 5:22:52 PM

Guys Guys! :o
You won't believe this for sure but i found a REAL Crysis benchmark! :D
Check this out!

Awesome! :D
At least much better than OP's benchies! 8)
June 15, 2007 6:10:17 PM

I ran the Lost Planet bench in DirectX 10 1920x1200x32 AA 16X As 16X and got this 63 snow and 40 cave. There appears to be a problem with the cave bench because that should be higher as it is all indoors and of course it's still under development.

Thats good at those res and settings though. I had a possible virus issue and reghosted my computer but the image was pre Vista installation so Vista disappeared. I haven't had time to reinstall and mess with it of late so my DX10 setup is kaput for now.

I have installed Colin Mcrae DiRT in XP and other than the overblown HDR settings its pretty good. I especially like the Pikes Peak runs, very cool.
