So. Anyone in the UK should know BT, as whoever is your IP, the line will probably be owned by BT. We are supposed to get 16Mbps, they say because of our location (we are set back from the exchange due to our house being on a new estate) that we will only ever get a maximum of 5Mbps, which is kind of a joke to start with, but i can deal with that.
The problem occurs when i check my internet speed and it pops up sayng we are getting 1.9Mbps. Now the UK does have the slowest internt in the world possibly, but in this day and age that is a joke, we have 3 laptops, a desktop, an xbox and an iPad, and of course all our phones, connected to this hub, and we are expected to run all this off of 1.9Mbps when we are paying for 16Mbps? (This isn't the worst part).
So after seeing this I ring up BT, they do there usual 'testing', and do this every time i ring up and it never works! This usually wastes around 15-20 minutes. After realising this isn't going to change anything, every support worker ''restarts'' the line. Whether they do or not i don't know! So, when they eventually realise nothing they do remotely is going to work, which i knew before i rang up, it's just explaining this to someone who cant understand you fully is a nightmare, they then tell me an engineer will be sent out on Friday, we are currently at the monday.
No one is in on the friday, so i have to take the day off work, guess what? They don't turn up. They say the following Friday an engineer will definitely turn up, a family member takes the day off work, what do you know? He doesn't turn up! So i ring BT kinda angry and say what can you do to 100% make sure an engineer turns up at my house on a weekend when i'm free because i cannot take anymore time off work! They say the only thing i can do is take there word for it, so i give them another chance, does he turn up? No, no he doesn't. This happened another 2 times and i am becoming to expect this lousy customer support. What i am basically trying to say is because everything is done through BT, we have no other choice, it's not like we can move IP and get a better internet connection, because it's still through BT, we need BT to fix it, and they persist in not turning up and it's a joke!
