SSD and windows

Upon purchasing an Intel ssd, solid state drive, I was unable to install Window Vista Home Premium because the installationprogram didn't see the disc when it promted me to chose a place to put the OS.

I then continued to format the disc and check BIOS if recognized it. It did.

Still no ssd in the list.

I have read some comments on the net stating that ssd cannot be used as OS-disc. Is that a fact?

You might have to install extra storage drivers before Windows will see the SSD... either for the chipset, the drive itself or both.
