This maybe too elementary for your group but I do need help even if only to know if it can or can't be done. Many years ago I wrote an office management system for veterinary clinics using a DOS language. Over the years this has been used by hundreds of vets and still is. At the time of writing, the Parallel port was used by everyone for printing and this was the defalut for the language(CB86) a few used serial ports in the early 80's. Now, parallel printers are getting harder to find.

Is there a way to redirect printing from a parallel printer to a USB device thru a DOS command line statement. This system is in use in many clinics with multiple stations networked together most using the local printer attached to the workstation and we support most black and white(including lasers, HP and Brother used most) and many use Oki dot matrix. Users now would like to use lasers and most now are coming along only with/as USB ported.

Any help appreciated!

Dr. Bill
