Forum Windows Vista : Drivers Cannot remove realtek audio, cannot install proper drivers

Hello, I am using WIndows vista home premium 6.0 build 6001 and cannot uninstall realtek ac97 audio driver.
I had installed it after trying to fix an audio problem in which i could not here dialogue or singing in mvoies and music files, I tried reinstalling the drivers but vista will not properly reinstall any driver versions I have tried: r2.24 - newest driver releases from realtek.

I tried to delete HDAUDIO registry from regedit but there is an error while deleting or access is denied. I do not know if deleting the registry will get rid of the driver though...

I was wondering if there was any other options, or other drivers I might be able to try.

thanks alot!

Register or log in to remove.

go to device manager an uninstall the audio device, or you can update drivers with the correct ones in the same way
