HP Pavilion G6-2005AX is a decent mid level gaming laptop. I gt it fr INR 34k frm local HP Store. You can play almost all games but u ll need to fiddle arnd with the graphics config a lil bit nd set the optimum hardware resourse usability using HP inbuilt graphics management software. U can overclock r under-clock it depending on the need. Very nice battery backup nd sound quality (its best feature). Hav been playin Max Payne 3 fr quite sum time n it nw [800X600] med tex, shadow, effects nd it runs smooth.

M sure u cn run battlefield 3 on this laptop.

1. If u r using it on ne soft surface like n ur bed or n ur lap thn it ll heat up more thn the normal level as the air intake slots under the laptop gets coverd.
(use a stand or a cooling pad while playing games)
http://www.flipkart.com/cooler-master-notepal-u2-coolin...

2. 70-75-80 is normal temp level fr graphics hungry games (using a good cooling pad will significantly lower the temp)

3. Now , fr the performance :

a) Play games in medium settings nd resolution less thn the native resolution ie nethin the 1024X range.
b) Configure dual graphics from Desktop>rightclick>graphics properties>Gaming>Gaming Performance>AMD Radeon Dual graphics.
c) Assign "high performance" to ur game.exe in Desktop>rightclick>configre switchable graphics
d) Play games with the charger plugged in [works for me with performance :)  ]

4. Keep ur desktop brightness on the second level (can be adjusted with the f2 nd f3 keys)

5. Run ur laptop n "power saver" mode fr normal applications (this ll save battery life significantly nd keep the temp low). Only for processor hungry applications use the "hp RECOMMENDED" power setting.

6. Download "cc cleaner". Its a free application. Run it to delete temp files periodically (once every 2-3 days is recommended)

7. Finally , adjust the Power Play settings : Desktop>right click>graphics properties>Power>PowerPlay

Hopefully u ll enjoy ur laptop nd the experience stitched around it now :)
