Hello,

I've always trolled around the THW forums, and seen how helpful the members are. Usually I can troubleshoot my problems and resolve them, but I have this one that I've been trying to fix since Christmas.

Well for Christmas, my brother and I got a spanking new Xbox Elite. Nifty little device. I set up the Live account, tested the connections, but when I went to "Test Media Connection", it fails to connect to my computer. I went to the site that it displayed and read I had to enable Media Sharing in Media Player 11.

I go to do that. At first, when I went to go enable it, the window with the devices to share didn't open.

As opposed to what the site says. I checked the box and enabled it, computer froze for a sec, but it didn't save my settings. I then proceeded to install the Zune software http://www.xbox.com/en-US/pcsetup/xpsp2.htm, but when I go to activate the Media Sharing option my PC reboots.

Ok, so now I'm wondering if I should just quit. But then I read some tutorials ( http://www.arne360.com/2006/11/05/ [...] ith-wmp11/, ) and tried one more time. I was stuck at step six, because I couldn't get that window to open up.

I ran Services.msc and saw that the Media Sharing Service had stopped, but when i went to activate it, the dependencies were also down. So I went through the chain of dependencies and managed to activate the Media Sharing one.

I open Windows Media Player, and go back to the Sharing Library tab, and open up the Media Sharing window. To my surprise the device finder window had open up, but it didn't detect my Xbox. I click on enable sharing and go to click on OK but my PC reboots.

I start up and it gives me this error.

It happens every time I try to use a software that enables Media Sharing. So now a small problem becomes a bigger one. I reinstall Window Media Player and update my computer. Still no luck. I open up my Xbox, and what's this?! It detects my computer, but when I try to go to my playlist, it gives me this error string "04_8007065b"

I'm thinking that it might be because of the size of my library. 10+ gb. So i start deleting items from my library and my computer restarts again. And I know that the Xbox is on my network because my laptop is able to see it.

My router is a WRT54G. I'm running Windows XP service Pack 2, AMD Athlon 2800+ , Geforce 6600, 3 gb of DDR ram.

Please help. :)

-X
