My computer says im not the administrator although I am

Hey my name is Tara.
I have a problem!
I run a windows vista Home premium and I noticed that my printer hp photosmart c3100 all-in-one was not printing anything but website stuff and wordpaid but anything else it would not work. I was going to try reinstalling the program but then when I put the cd in hit install a message came back saying I need to be in an administrator. The thing is I am!
I am not a computer person at all so this is frustrating!

  1. Boot into safe mode (f8 on startup). Log on as the default administrator user. Go to the control panel-->users-->your user account. Is it listed as having administrator rights?

    If yes, restart. Boot into safe mode with networking (f8 on startup). Download, install, and update malwarebytes. Do a full system scan.
