Hello all, I'm back again with another problem with another computer problem concerning my girlfriend again - this time her own laptop. Anyway, she logged onto her home network today when we arrived at her house from college when she started noticing popups coming up roughly around every five minutes. Popups such as a fake security alert screen, an ad for downloading a spyware cleaner, and a webcam site; you all know the kinds of popups I'm talking about. I took a look at it, and I noticed that when I would Google what was wrong with the computer and try to go to a site that could help, it would redirect me to another site. For example, when typing in something along the lines of, "browser is hacked" and I try to click on something that might help me (such as a solved problem in a forum) it would redirect me to another site (example: one of those phony search sites or a site advertising me spyware). However, when going to a site that could not possibly offer me any kind of computer help of any kind (Facebook worked like a charm) everything would be okay. I've ran all kinds of scanner: Spybot Search and Destroy, SuperAntiSpyware, Adware Away, and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to no avail.
