DDR2 1200 / 800 ?

So I'm looking to build a gamer rig, and on newegg.com, I search for DDR2-800 Motherboards, and some DDR2-1200 motherboards come up; What's the difference between DDR2-800 and DDR2-1200, and are they compatible?

DDR2-1200 motherboards are just motherboards that can handle up to DDR2-1200 memory. You dont need or want anything that high, and since the DDR2-1200 motherboards support DDR2-800 aswell, that would be a better idea.
