I need help. iv recently bought a new computer which has windows vista home premium as the OS. I'm using the same internet connection as I used to and I’m using the same anti-virus and firewall software + configurations that I used to but my download speed has well...died.

I used to average at about 6Mb/s and now speed tests are showing me I’m at 0.14Mb/s. on my old computer, still running XP, I’m still getting my old download rate. the weird thing is on games my pings and latencies are alright, web browsing is fine too. but any sort of downloading is ridiculously slow, including streaming like on youtube.

I’m not a very technical user so I’m stumped.

any help would be hugely appreciated.

Since posting this i'v fixed my problem, it was my network adaptor, i plugged my pc directly into the router and it was fine, i bought a new network adaptor to see if it fixed the problem and it did. my own fault for taking the cheap option first time round ^^
