I just finished building my computer with a 2900xt in it. My friend pointed out that it is not running to its full potential because I did not have enough power going to it. I basically need two eight pin connectors to over clock it. Today I bought a new power supply...

To give enough power for the mother board but the eight pin connectors didn't fit into the graphics card. Does anyone know how many watts the 2900xt takes up. I was guessing around 250 or so, but I am planning on doing crossfire in the future so chose this as a dedicated PSU for my graphics card.

Is this set up o.k or did anyone else who has this graphics card have a different set up to make it run at full potential.

Thanks,
Zman

i know but those are really expensive, plus if I were to get a power supply that could manage 2, 2900xt's for the future I would need at least 400 wats ALONE for the cards. If I were going to buy a power supply with 2 eight pin connectors I would have to get one of those fancy $300 ones which I don't really want to purchase.

That video card is a little gem for what it can do and if I were you I would treat 'her' accordingly.
And one more thing...you can find psu reviews everywhere, including reviews for the 750w+ ones, so we all know they are reliable and some of them flawless, but did you manage to find a trusted review for that cpu and gpu gaming psu? (funny internal rhyme, I know) Make sure you know what you're byuing for the sake of that 2900xt.

Peace;)
