will ddr2 1066 run 1:1 with q6600 or e6850

no - it's DDR "2", double rate....so it 1066 is doubled, and it will run at a 1:2 ratio...

isnt it really 533, and because its ddr2 its 1066? and the fsb im guessing of the cpu would be 266?

The Q6600 runs at 1066 (266.5 fsb), the E6850 runs at 1333 (333.25 fsb).
1:1 with the q6600 would require ddr2 533, the E6850 would need ddr2 667.

Don't know about the decimals, but that's correct.

This whole FSB thing is really messing up some people and confusing the beginners :cry:

Well, we may say it for us normal users, and even those who OC decently, that could still be an overkill.. Even PC26400 would do that if you can get your Quad's fsb to 400 it will run 1:1.. But the Q6600 is not that high OC'er...
