Can a 305 watt power supply handle a 7950 gt?

I have a dell e520 desktop and im planning to upgrade the stock graphic card which i the 7300 le to a 7950 gt ut can my stock 305 watt PSU handle it?
Please advice.

as a general rule, when posting questions like that on this forum, its advised that you post your total system config, as we have no idea what parts you are using. some stuff may darw less power, while others may draw more. so post that info first, then ask the question.

unless that psu is 100% efficient and which has a fairly high amp rating on its +12v ail.....chances are its not enough. But you can always try and see what happens :p .

well, i think i can safely say that a stock 300 watt psu wont be enough for a 7950, so i would definitely suggest an upgrade.

I have a Dell E521 with the same psu (305w). It's 22amps on the 12v rails. Some Dell users are running the 7950GT with that psu, but I would not myself since it would be too close for comfort for me. I guess it comes down to what else your running on your setup. These are 2 choices for an upgrade specific to that psu that are compatible with the E520:
