What card will perform better in a A64 3000+ @ 2.5 ghz / Mobo k8v-x se:

1) Radeon 9600XT from Sapphire, 128mb / 128 bits
(core: 500mhz / memo 600mhz)

2) GeForce 6600LE from ProLink, 128mb/128 bits
(core: 350 mhz / memo 600mhz)

I was told that the geforce will perform better, because the newer tecnology, like possibility to use SM3.0 and stuff...

What card should i get? Its not 2 buy, i need to choose one between both..

Tell me how much money you can spend? Those cards you are looking at are pretty low end cards. If you had to pick one I would say the 6600LE is better. Just make sure it has 128bit memory.

Why are you limited to those GPU's?  The K8V-X SE is a 8X AGP which will support some of the best DX9 GPU's.  I would suggest atleast getting a 7600GS.

Heres a nice GPU if your budget is less than $100.

Is there a PSU problem?  EVGA suggests a 350watt PSU with 18amps for the 7600GS.

If you have the cash EVGA even has a 7800gs AGP.

To answer you thread question what card will perform better is the best AGP GPU made.  Im not sure of the top performing AGP but without question I wouldn't waste money on that old of a technology.  Get atleast a  7 series Nvidia or X1000 series ATI.

Now I hear theirs a DX10 AGP comming and if true without question it would be the best path if the price is low.  Here is the latest on the best AGP and pricing review.

hmm.. considering the memo clock of the 6600LE 300 (not 200. as showed), the diference is the core clock.. but the tecnology of 6600Le is better, and i may found any pipe disabled.. and its active cooled, so i can try an over.. so, ill get the 6600LE...

Any comment??

well even though that was a great link , it doesnt really help him
those reviews are done depending on the person and there budget and compares those two cards in there own sector, so its like comparing a GF6600GT against a GF 7600GT,
one person who didnt have a lot of cash and got the gf6600gt could be very happy
while someone with some dough who just got the GF7600gt could not be
as for the GF6600le, it does have SM3.0 and i would get that as long as it is 128bit, you never know you could get lucky and unlock the 4 hidden pipelines

There are better cards out there but as long as it is cheap and that is all thats available to you go for it.It's old tech but if you don't have high expectations it will be okay.Hell,I played Farcry on my 5200 and it looked alright but it finally choked on COD2 so I figured it was time to upgrade.

A 6600 FPS wise can beat the 9600XT but not the 6600LE.  That said the 6600LE image will be higher quality due to DX compatibility.  If you must buy get the 6600LE.

I would suggest waiting as even a 7300GT should beat the 6600LE.  What GPU do you currently have?  If what you have will due and your choices aren't what you want then sometimes its best to wait for more options.

Dont be in a rush as AGP will be supported even in DX10.
