I'm looking to build my first gaming rig come July. I probably will get the Q6600 as 2 games I know will support the quads, plus I'll be set for the future for a bit.

So should I be looking to buy a P35 motherboard?

I've been leaning towards a Gigabyte P35 that supports DDR3 (for when the timings get better).

But I saw someone mention DS4's are on the horizon - when exactly? Next month? end of year?

Thanks in advance!

how much do you plan on spending for a motherboard? what type of things from your existing system do you want to incorporate, if any?

I plan to run 4 gigs of DDR2 Ram, Vista 64bit, WD Raptor 75 or 150gig and an optical DVD RW from my current PC.

The 680i series are great motherboards, I couldn't recomend them more.

The P35-DS4 is already in retail in the UK but it's DDR2.
