8O Hey all you pontental Q6600 owners check this out. ZippZoomFly has already started cutting their prices. It was $530 yesterday. Now $ 515.90.

Q4 of 2007, i.e. Christmas I guess. Same for the next nVidia high-end card, by the way

Specs: 50 new instructions mostly for video encoding, 10% to 40% faster than the QX6800 (I'm talking about Yorkfield, i.e. the quad version), etc. I've read a great article about it last month, I think it was at Anandtech.

Well I'm planning to get this one for gaming but since games do not need this quad core for now, I might as well wait for the Penryns. Still it's a good chip if you can afford one.

Me also on the other part is not antsy about the q6600's upcoming price-cut - since i already have one quad here, but i'm rather antsy about when they are going to be that really useful and efficient.. If i'm to buy a rig now, i'll go for C2D DC right away then upgrade to Quad when penryn comes... Well, this "Was" my second option before i made up my mind to get that Q6600 a couple of months ago..
