Just zippy cutting down there prices same old 500$ for Q6600.

Nothing more nothing less wait till July lets not get all antsy here.

When is the Penryn supposed to be available? What are the specs going to be?

Q4 of 2007, i.e. Christmas I guess. Same for the next nVidia high-end card, by the way :p

Specs: 50 new instructions mostly for video encoding, 10% to 40% faster than the QX6800 (I'm talking about Yorkfield, i.e. the quad version), etc. I've read a great article about it last month, I think it was at Anandtech.

Well I'm planning to get this one for gaming but since games do not need this quad core for now, I might as well wait for the Penryns. Still it's a good chip if you can afford one.

Me also on the other part is not antsy about the q6600's upcoming price-cut - since i already have one quad here, but i'm rather antsy about when they are going to be that really useful and efficient.. If i'm to buy a rig now, i'll go for C2D DC right away then upgrade to Quad when penryn comes... Well, this "Was" my second option before i made up my mind to get that Q6600 a couple of months ago.. :(
