OK, so here is my problem

I used Darik's Boot and Nuke to completely wipe my computers harddrive ( i got a new one and i want to use the old one as a file server but thats besides the point) so i got rid of Windows 2000 and everything with it.
After the wipe, i have an XP boot DVD but its not working, how do i reformat this dead harddrive so i can then install XP onto my computer?

THanks MUCH

Did you make the optical drive the first boot device in the BIOS?

Yes i have, i have 2 optical Drivers, a DVD reader/burner and a Cd reader and they are both above the harddrive boot in the boot sequence

Try disabling all the other boot devices except for the DVD drive. If that doesn't work, the disc isn't bootable.

If you can't get into the BIOS, you have some hardware problems. Try booting with only the video card, 1 stick of RAM, and the hard drive. Everything else can be unplugged.
