Basically, heres the dilemnia,

I wanna practice shoutcasting my Starcraft 2 matches and Heroes of Newerth games with some of my friends as a group project for fun.

However, everytime I use these on screen recording programs, I'm having problems with the video playback. It's not as smooth as I thought it would be. I have put the settings on 30 FPS, with a 1680x1050 resolution on Camtasia. However, when i watch the video I just recorded the video starts to stutter and skips around a bit, character animation and movement is too choppy to watch.

Bottom line question: Is it a hardware issure or is there a setting where I can have a smoother but less quality video?

Specs:

AMD X3 440 3.0GHZ

4 GB RAM

ATI 4850

750 GB Hard Drive

Windows Vista, 32 bit.

You are recording at 30fps, but you are probably playing at what? 40, 50, 60 maybe? You are dropping a ton of frames = choppy video.
